    Introduction to PEAR - Conclusion

The PHP Extension and Application Repository is a collection of reusable, open source code for use in PHP applications. Packages are easily obtained using the PEAR Package Manager.

Packages have been developed to help interface with databases (DB), process XML documents (XML_Parser, XML_RSS and XML_Serializer), and manage web services (SOAP and XML_RPC). You can see all available packages either at http://pear.php.net/packages.php or by running "pear list-all" from the command line.
