10 Must Have Firefox Improvements - More Firefox Add-ons
(Page 4 of 4 )
11. Wizz RSS News Reader
A constantly improving RSS and Atom feed reader. It is fairly powerful, feature-rich and well-supported.
12. Morning Coffee
Keeps track of daily routine websites and opens them in tabs.
13. Read It Later
Read It Later allows you to save pages of interest to read later. It prevents the cluttering up of bookmarks with sites that are merely of one-time interest.
14. ReminderFox
ReminderFox displays and manages lists of date-based reminders and ToDos. ReminderFox does not seek to be a full-fledged calendar. In fact, the target audience is anybody that simply wants to remember important dates (birthdays, anniversaries, bills, etc) without having to run a whole calendar application.
15. Sxipper
Forget your passwords! Sxipper accurately fills in forms, manages passwords and your OpenIDs.
16. Firefox Universal Uploader (fireuploader)
This extension allows to upload/download files from your favorite websites using a simple interface. In this version, Snaphappi (a digital photo processing website), Slideshare.net (Share your presentations) and Adobe Share has been added. You can make PDF documents using Adobe Share. Upload any word/image document, download it in PDF format.
Now, I think that you can choose the one(s) that are right for you. I just want to give you a few handy pieces of advice about your choices of plug-ins. Don't worry, I will do my best to keep them brief.
1. Don't be easily seduced. Choosing one because it is cute when you won't get any long-term use or joy out of it is just a waste, which you will inevitably end up having to uninstall later on.
2. Resist the desire to overload the browser. Having too many add-ons just decreases your browser space and cuts off your view. In addition, it makes your browser slower to open than it would be otherwise.
3. Always get your add-ons from reputable sources and know what they do. The ones on this listing have been pre-vetted for your safety, but when it comes to other sources, you are just going to have to do the leg work on your own.
Now we have gotten through the end of the public health and safety warning which I feel compelled to give whenever a topic involves downloading, or any other action that can take your system into the zone of potential risk. You can never really be too careful with your system.
