Book Review: CISSP in 21 Days - Final Conclusions

You have come to the end of this book review and the time has come for us to draw some conclusions and rate this book. But I truly think that my final thoughts shouldn’t surprise anyone from what you could read about the book until now.

Summing up this entire review, I think it is pretty clear that this book deserves a straight 5/5 on a scale from 1 to 5. Therefore, I can wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone that has even a slight interest in one of the topics covered within. Moreover, should anybody really be striving for a CISSP certification then by all means reading and studying this 21-day preparation right before the exam is the path to follow.

Earning (and maintaining) a CISSP certification does require much dedication and work. That’s the reason it's considered the gold standard in Information Security. There are just a few tens of thousands of people CISSP certified worldwide! This also proves that it is in fact a respectable and prestigious certification, since by far not everyone passes the examination. It is not your run-off-the-mill certification.

Furthermore, CISSP certifications are recognized everywhere, including by such high profile organizations as the U.S. DoD (Department of Defense) and NSA (National Security Agency). So the jobs where you can show off your qualifications and CISSP certs are so-called “dream careers” for most, with an eye-catching salary.

All in all, don’t let your nerves stop you from earning this certification. Statistics prove that most candidates fail the final stage of CISSP examination due to lack of confidence—which could be alleviated with a review of the entire material in a short and succinct way, covering all ten concepts right before the exam. The author also provides a full-blown mock-up test with 250 questions (and answers).

Before we finish, please bear with me as I’d like to thank everyone over at PACKT Publishing for giving me the opportunity to review this book. I’ve had the good fortune to be in touch with Duane Moraes from their team and he has shown a great deal of professionalism and business expertise.

As a final statement, I would like to congratulate M.L. Srinivasan, or MLS, as the author is popularly known, for writing this fantastic quick review guide. This approach provides motivation by encouraging dedicated candidates to keep up with the day-by-day schedule for the course of 21 days. This strict and disciplined approach is definitely going to pay off. The book is an amazing guide and reference manual.

Furthermore, please don’t miss the sample chapter of the book—chapter 15: “Day 14: Telecommunications and Network Security”. And if you feel as if you're part of the right audience, then don’t hesitate to grab a copy of this book (PACKT, Amazon).
